Moving from Gmail

Check IMAP access and your Google account’s sign-in requirements. An app password may require two-step verification; Workspace administrators can restrict its availability.

What about contacts and calendars?

IMAP migration copies email. Plan contact imports and calendar transfers separately, using formats and tools supported by your source and destination.

Your IMAP source stays intact.

The migration reads from your existing mailbox and copies messages into Oneemail. It doesn’t delete messages from the source. Connection requirements vary by provider, including IMAP access and app passwords.

A clear path to your new inbox.

Prepare, copy, and verify before making the routing change.

01 / PREPARE

Set up the destination

Add your domain, verify ownership, create destination mailboxes, and gather the source connection details. Keep current mail routing in place while you prepare.

02 / COPY

Test, then import

Test source access before starting. Run the migration in the background, monitor progress, and review any failed or skipped items.

03 / SWITCH

Sync and make the move

Run a final delta sync to catch newer messages. Check DNS and domain readiness, then update MX records when you’re ready to receive new mail at Oneemail.

Plan the switch before changing mail routing.

Large mailboxes and provider limits can take time. Give your team a clear plan, keep access to the source, and verify the results before completing the switch.

Your questions, answered.

Need help choosing a plan or setting up your domain?

Speak with the team
Can I move email from my current provider?

Yes. Import from supported IMAP sources including Gmail, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Yahoo, and iCloud. Test the connection, copy your mail, and sync new messages before changing mail routing. IMAP migration leaves messages in your old mailbox.

Will this move my calendar and contacts automatically?

IMAP migration is for email. Contacts can be imported with supported contact formats, and calendar handling depends on the chosen tools and source. Review those separately rather than assuming they are included in a mail import.

How long does migration take?

It depends on mailbox size, message count, source-provider limits, and connection speed. Large imports can take hours. Monitor the job and review failures in the organization portal; there is no universal completion time.
